Ok I subscribed for a free trial subscription for one week to a new network online. From day one of my free trial I have been having issues. First the wrong information was put on my account when I checked online I’m was supposed to be on a 7 day trial they put me on monthly. I called in about it and I was told it was corrected and my free trial was supposed to end by a certain date 03/05/2014. I canceled my subscription on 03/02/2014 waited a few days but didn’t get my refund. So I called in and was told that 7 days from the time I canceled I will get my refund. 7 days had past no refund so I called back in and was told a refund request was never put in. So the rep put in a refund request and I was supposed to get an email in 24 hours (confirmation email). Never got the email so I called in today and found out I was denied. So they had to escalate the call to an account manager who keeps telling me I signed up for a monthly subscription making it look like I was confused on what I signed up for and I argued the issue told him to read your notes I’ve been having issues since day one of this subscription I clicked on the right one I wanted the 7 day trial and had called about this issue since day one. Ok reviews the notes saw that I had been calling about this keeps putting me on hold to talk to his manager about getting my refund request approved. In the end I got a reference number for my case and have to wait 24hrs – 3 days for someone to contact me because now the account manager has to escalate it to the executives of the company about my case. Plus the account manager asks me a question that should have been asked in the beginning how did I subscribe to the 7 day trial by phone I said no I did it on my tablet. Then he tells me that could be the reason why their system got confused and he says we usually suggest our customers to sign up on a laptop or desktop. Seriously, so all my issues is due to a glitch plus I was never informed of signing up using a desktop or laptop versus a tablet I here this now after the fact. Which to me is completely stupid not everyone has a laptop or desktop it just makes no sense to me why that should make a difference. As long as you can get on the internet to the website what does it matter. Now I have a desktop, a tablet and a smartphone now what about a person who don’t have a a laptop, desktop, or tablet and has no way of accessing a computer so you telling me that they will have the same issue if they signed up by smartphone. From day one I have been lied to and getting the damn run around from what I feel are very inexperienced customer service reps who by the sound of their accent their call center is not even based in the US. And last time I checked even though you have to a payment method on file for a free trial you are not supposed to be charged till it is over if you didn’t cancel I’ve been charged since day one. I know the amount of the refund is not much (9.99) but still its my money that I worked hard for and i refuse to be cheated out of it. I guarantee you this… this will be the last Damn time I subscribe to any form of free trials I usually don’t because its not always easy to remember to cancel them plus I heard sometimes it can be a hassle with them. They were right LESSON LEARNED!………..(To Be Continued)
Why can’t people just accept you for what you are? They always want to mold you into their vision of what they feel you are supposed to be. Is it that hard to accept a person for who they truly are? To me it’s shallow, vain, and a serious lack of appreciation and understanding. Why should I change how I do or who I am for you? If I change myself is because I want to change not because you want me to or to impress you. If a person is not to your satisfaction just leave don’t try to change or control them. I’m not going to put up a front to impress you, get your attention, to love me, or to be with me. What I am as a person, how I treat you, how I love you should be enough and the most important. Unfortunately, it’s just not enough for some people they want some glamorous over the top person like they on the red carpet or something. If being me is not enough for you then what’s the point in being with you. Obviously, if you feel I should be a completely different person then what I am then you truly don’t care for ME! Some people just want unrealistic things from a person it’s a shame. This is my quotes on this subject: Take Me as I Am or not at All! Man can not mold me into his vision Only God can do that! Unlike man God excepts me for who and what I Am…… ME despite my flaws
To know me is to love me to love me is to understand me to understand me is to accept ME!
A poem I found online that says it all in a few lines:
I am who I am from my head to my toes.
I tend to get loud when speaking my mind.
Even a little crazy some of the time.
I’m not a size 5 and don’t care to be.
You can be you and I can be me.
I try to stay strong when pain knocks me down.
And the times that I cry is when no ones around.
To error is human or so that’s what they say.
Well tell me who’s perfect any damn way.
Whatever happened to television all I see these days are all these so called “reality” shows. Seriously how many wives of whatever can you have, competitive shows, celebrities whose 15 minutes of fame ran out trying to make a comeback, make over shows whether fashion, homes, business, gossip, etc. Seriously what is the point in television anymore. What happened to all the creative writers we used to make great legendary, forever in syndication shows. Why are we stuck with a bunch of mindless bullshit ass shows that get old after a few seasons. I get so sick of new “reality” shows popping up every second. Really does everything have to be turned into a reality show.
A little history on reality shows: First reality show 1948, Allen Funt’s Candid Camera show (based on his previous 1947 radio show, Candid Microphone) broadcast unsuspecting ordinary people reacting to pranks.
The first reality show in the modern sense may have been the 12-part 1973 PBS series An American Family, which showed a nuclear family(filmed in 1971) going through a divorce.
1980’s-1990’s reality shows like Cops (1989) created due to 1988 Writers Guild of America Strike, The Real World was inspired by the 1973 PBS documentary series An American Family It focuses on the lives of a group of strangers who audition to live together in a house for several months, as cameras record their interpersonal relationships. The show moves to a different city each season. Big Brother (1999) created by John de Mol where a group of people live together in a large house, isolated from the outside world. They are continuously watched by television cameras. Each series lasts for around three months, with 12–16 contestants entering the house. In order to win the final cash prize, all the contestants have to do is survive periodic evictions and be the last one standing. Survivor (1992) In the show, contestants are isolated in the wilderness and compete for cash and other prizes. The show uses a system of progressive elimination, allowing the contestants to vote off other tribe members until only one final contestant remains and wins the title of “Sole Survivor.” The 1980s and 1990s were also a time when tabloid talk shows came to rise, many of which featured the same types of unusual or dysfunctional guests that would later become popular as cast members of reality shows.
2000’s Reality television saw an explosion of global popularity starting in the summer of 2000, with the successes of Big Brother and Survivor (in the US).American Idol (2002) singing competition America’s Top Model (2003) Dancing with the Stars (2005) , The Apprentice (2004), and so on and so forth.
So now we have a saturation of television “reality” shows its ridiculous and its not just television that has lost its creativity also movies have too. I mean how many remakes of the same old action, horror, comedy, and drama do we have to do . Then you have almost every last comic book character coming to life in the movies not just once but in 20 million damn versions. Seriously, the writers are just getting too lazy now instead of creating shows and movies with longevity all we get is a bunch of crap. And the sad thing about all this is that we the viewers just accept this (shakes head). Will the real writers stand up and put out some quality shows and movies already or do you no longer exist.
Why is it government is trying to control every aspect people’s lives. What they can do or what they can not do. They put all their power whether at State or Federal level to have that type of control. But for the issues we have today that really need to be taken care of there is little to no effort to resolve them. Like the issues today of same sex marriages (North Carolina just passed amendment to ban same-sex marriages) and women’s rights to make choices in their own health care (Republican’s War On Women’s Rights). I mean really have we gone back to the cave man days. All the fight for women and gay/lesbian rights that was not for nothing. Yet no matter how much we have progressed as people we are still falling behind because of a minority of people who just refuse to accept change and want to make everybody else just like them closed-minded and ignorant. It’s crazy how some people will use religion and other means of reasoning as propaganda to support their cause. Why can’t these same people put all their energy into something that really needs to be changed. I can think of many other things that this country needs to be worked on for example poverty, better education for our nation’s kids, the environment, crime, the economy, etc, etc. Our citizens and politicians need to put all that effort in improving our country instead of destroying it. All these movements we had over the course of our country’s history was for a reason for a better life of our country as a whole. What is the point of having the women’s movement, the gay and lesbian rights movement, the civil rights movement, and so on and so forth if all we going to do in the end is take all those rights away and revert back to the closed-mindedness and ignorance of the old days. It’s already bad enough they are trying to undo everything that was done for women and gay and lesbian rights you have to think what will the government undo next civil rights? The way this is going I wouldn’t be surprised if they did. Why is it that this minority of close-minded, ignorant and lets be real racists people are the one’s trying to control everything? It looks like they rather have a dictatorship then to have free country. Last time I checked we had the independence movement in order to not have this why do we keep going backwards and not forwards is beyond me. Why won’t some people just accept the freedom of choice and free-will? Why must our government feel everything and everyone has to be under control? Is the government so drunk with power they can’t see how much destruction is being caused in this country by them? It’s funny how the US can help everybody else in the world but our own citizens. Whatever happened to country first? I understand other countries need help too but if we can not even resolve issues in our own country then how can we help anyone else. That is the problem when you have too much power you misuse it for your own gain. There is just no priority in this country with this government. Here is an example of what I mean: Notice what is on the top of the list for the 2012 campaign issues real important issues that is on the list, issues that shouldn’t be on the list, and issues that needs to be on the list. (Campaign Issues from CNN Politics website “America’s Choice 2012 Election Center” http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2012/campaign-issues.html
TOP CAMPAIGN ISSUES
The economy, unemployment, taxes and how to manage the federal government’s $14 trillion debt will be leading issues in the 2012 White House race. With the near-collapse of the U.S. banking and financial system hitting late in the 2008 race, President Obama’s tenure in the Oval Office is being defined, in many ways, by economic and fiscal policy issues. And the tea party movement – the conservative wing of the Republican party — has been hammering Obama’s economic and fiscal policy since 2009, pushing GOP candidates to hold firm on pledges not to raise taxes and to cut spending.
Most Republican candidates are pushing to “repeal and replace” much of the health care reform bill passed by a Democratically controlled Congress and signed into law by President Obama in spring 2010. The law has proved less popular than Obama and Democrats anticipated when they used considerable political capital to pass it. But the GOP is also exposed on health care. Gov. Mitt Romney is plagued by comparisons between the Democratic law and a similar bill he supported and signed while governor of Massachusetts.
President Obama has had a full plate on the foreign policy front for much of his term: inheriting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, developing U.S. policy in a Middle East where Iran is a potential nuclear threat, coaxing along a stalled peace plan when Israel and the Palestinians are still fierce adversaries, and encouraging popular voices to stand up against oppressive regimes in the Middle East and North Africa through democratic uprisings, a movement known as the Arab Spring. Meanwhile, Republicans have accused Obama of “leading from behind” in much of the Middle East. He had a major success, however, with the discovery and death of notorious terrorist Osama bin Laden, the face of al Qaeda for the past decade.
Border security and the millions of undocumented immigrants in the U.S. could prove to be a contentious issue in the 2012 White House race. Concerns about cross-border violence from Mexico and efforts by some states — especially those on the border — to try to enforce federal immigration laws have been high since Obama took office in 2009. Republicans and conservatives fault the Obama administration and Democrats for not doing enough to secure the border and enforce existing laws. And, from his left flank, Obama is facing criticism for not doing more to push through an immigration reform bill that would help put the undocumented on a path to citizenship.
Though it was once a reliable “wedge” issue for Republicans, public opinion about same-sex marriage is increasingly moving toward more tolerance, making it difficult to predict how the issue will play out in 2012. While social conservatives remain concerned about the issue, the economy nowranks much higher in polls for most Americans.
Abortion proved a contentious issue – particularly among social conservatives — during the legislative fight over the Democratic health care reform bill in 2009, with last-minute demands to include language further restricting federal funding for abortion providers. But during the 2012 White House race, many political observers expect economic issues to dominate the presidential campaign, with less attention being paid to pro-life and pro-choice camps.
OTHER ISSUES TO WATCH
Now I see some issues that are under the title other issues to watch that need to be in the top campaign issues and some in the top that need to be in the other issues. I find it amazing how same-sex marriages and abortion are two of the top campaign issues trying to be changed but not education, environment/global warning or any of the other issues that are under other issues to watch that need to be seriously addressed. At least they got some of that list right in regards to the economy, healthcare, foreign policy and immigration but what about the rest. Think about it: Why is education never a top issue our kids are our future and will be running the country one day how can they when they don’t have a proper education. Our education system needs a complete overhaul. And when it comes to budget cuts why is it that education is usually one of the main areas they cut. The priorities of this countries issues are completely out of wack. Until we get our priorities straight and get our issues resolved we are just going to keep going down hill as a country. It is so sad that the United States is the most powerful country in the world but can not even properly take care of its own citizens its a crying shame.
From the Pledge of Allegiance:
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
Something we have always said as kids in school and as adults but there is no justice for all unfortunately. Unfortunately with racism still alive today, crooked cops, and a very slow and bias judicial system most of us don’t stand a chance. You have to be a certain ethnicity (Caucasian), or wealthy with high-powered attorneys, or have serious connections in the police or judicial departments. And the media is just as bias and racists as the justice system if the victim of a crime is not (Caucasian) they get no air play on major networks, radio stations, and newspapers. It just gets aired on networks geared towards other ethnic backgrounds. Lets look at some examples: Casey Anthony kills her daughter Caylee Marie Anthony (kills her in June 2008) yet is not found guilty of murder all she got was a year in jail for four misdemeanor counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer. Then you have the George Zimmerman who kills Trayvon Martin February 26, 2012 it took almost two months for him to be put in jail, a month for major media outlets to broadcast the case to the rest of the country ( was on networks such as BET from the time it happened) and now he just got released on a $150,000 bail for second-degree murder. Seriously, talk about injustice it just makes no sense how our justice system works a drug addict who gets caught with drugs will get more time than a murderer these days.
Marissa Alexander (in Florida) (August 2010) she had a gun permit, she stood her ground (stand your ground law) against an abusive husband who had intent to kill her, yet she faces 20 years in prison.
Troy Davis (1991) was convicted and sentenced to death for killing a caucasian police officer despite lack of evidence tying him to the crime Sylvester “Redd” Coles who accused him of the murder (basically here say ) turns out in the end it was Sylvester “Redd” Coles (who confessed) who killed the officer and set up Davis unfortunately despite evidence that shows reasonable doubt Davis was executed September 21, 2011. It’s amazing how justice is so different for people one person gets justice where another one does not. Where is this justice for all that we keep saying unfortunately it doesn’t exist. It’s no wonder a lot of people don’t trust the justice system cause it is so corrupted. As long as we have racism and people with no morals the injustice will never end.
Martin Luther King Jr. “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”
